I am Thankful - An Inspiring Story

14-Feb-2014 | Friday | 7.30 PM | Company Bus

I entered my Office bus and occupied a comfortable front seat. I have opened the book "Think and Grow Rich" written by Napoleon Hill and started reading it. It is the seventh time I am reading this book. Each and every time I read this book, I learn something new.

Within couple of minutes Sundar came near me and asked pointing the empty seat near me
"Prem, can I take this seat?"

"Sure. I have secured this seat only for you" I said with a mischievous smile on my face.

He burst out laughing, as the timing was good. Before you hit the face on the wall,
wondering what is the Joke, I will clarify it. In our company, Sundar is working on fourth floor in Television division. However, I am working in Mobile Division in the third floor. We have worked together on a project before a decade and rarely do we meet each other in the 7.30 PM evening bus. He usually goes home by 5.00 PM Office bus daily and today he is late, might be due to some important work. I hope now you could digest the joke.

"Prem, I want to meet you personally for a long time" he kick started the conversation.

"Really. Please let me know how can I help you?" I asked him as if I am the Aladdin’s Genie.

"I am totally depressed due to poor appraisal this year and my marriage life is also not good and I am worried a lot about money, as I have lakhs of home and car loan
and my health is also derogating" he said emotionally with a gloomy face.

"I completely understand your problem. You are not alone. Almost 80 percent of the Software engineers have the same problems" I replied.

"I have attended one of your motivational sessions in our office and found it useful. So I thought you can give some good advice" Sundar asked, inquisitively.

“Sundar, I stopped giving free advice" I giggled and winked my eyes.

"Prem, I am ready to give half of my assets to you, if you help me to overcome the current situation" he said, concerned.

"Half of the Assets ? I will write it in my Dairy" I laughed.

“I Swear. Please help” he said concerned.

I usually use my mentalist skills to check whether the person is really serious about what he is asking. I could read from his Voice tone, eye movements and the body language that he is true. I started giving the wisdom, which I have gathered from my beloved masters.

"You are seeing only the things that you don't have in your life. Instead, you should be thankful for all the things that you have in life" I said.

"What do I have, other than the loan, not good appraisal, not good health and a complaining wife ?" he asked frustrated.

"You have food on your plate, roof on your head and colorful dress on your wardrobe and loving friends and parents. I know that you love your daughter more than anything else in this world" I cleverly touched his positive emotions.

If you are wondering how I know that he loves his daughter, I will give you the clue. He usually keeps his daughter photo in the office desktop wallpaper. I have observed it multiple times, while we are working together in the project, before a decade.

"Yes, you are right" he answered

"It is normal human nature to compare with others and complaint about the things that we don't have, you need to shift your focus and start appreciating the things you have" I said positively.

"You said it very easily. But how can I do it ?" he questioned.

"It is a good question Sundar. In your Smartphone notepad, start writing the things that you are Thankful. For example, next time when you have a cup of freshly brewed coffee, you need to write as "I am thankful for my Coffee" in the notepad. You need to write even the small things that you like about your wife, health, finance and work. Moreover if someone does a favor or help, express it to them with gratitude” I said.

“Does this really work ?” he asked, with a question mark on his face.

“It works, if you work on it.People always underestimate the things that are simple and easy. Give this a try for 90 days and stop following it, if you don’t get any positive results. Anyway, you are not going to lose even a single penny by following this” I said

“Yes, you are right. I will give it a try” he said with little hope on his face.

“I need to get down, as the bus have reached my stop. It was nice talking to you. Good Luck” I said with a smile on my face.

I have deboarded the bus and started walking towards my home with the earphone on my ears, hearing the "Attitude of Gratitude" Gyan from my beloved master Gaur Gopal Das with the support of LG G2 Smartphone.

I have never met Sundar afterwards in my company.

24-Mar-2019 | 9.00 PM | Bhagini Suites Marathahalli

Let's fast forward five years, me along with my wife and son was attending Sakthi’s, my colleague Hari’s daughter, first Birthday party. We are sitting in a table and enjoying the tasty Dinner. Sundar came to our table, along with his wife and daughter with a beaming smile on his face . He introduced me, as his Mentor, to his wife and daughter.

Sundar is completely changed now. He is radiating with full of positive energy and enthusiasm. I have taken him to corner of the room to know the secret for his positive transformation.

“Sundar, I haven’t seen you after our meeting at the office bus. Where are you? ” I questioned.

“I got a good offer from Qualcomm within 3 months of our meeting and I have resigned our company. I came to meet you on the last day. But I heard from your teammate that you have gone to France for a business trip” he said.

“How is your life going on?” I came straight to the point without wasting time.

“I am appreciating each and every moment of my life” he said with a sense of pride and achievement.

“That sounds good” I replied.

“Meeting you in the office bus have transformed my life positively” he said.

“Really, Can you please explain me how ?”

“I started appreciating all the good things in my life"

“Awesome. So you have followed what I told ?”

“Yes, Exactly like a baby duck follows their mother”

“How is your corporate life ?”

“I am working as a successful program manager and I got the Best Employee Award last Year”

“How is your marriage life ?”

“It is Awesome. After our meeting, once I thanked my wife for the tasty chapatti she have prepared for me. On hearing this, her eyes become moist and she hugged me tightly. I have understood that she was craving for my appreciation until now. After knowing this secret, I started hitting sixes all over the ground like MS Dhoni” he smiled.

“What about your home and car loan?”

“Daily, I thanked the universe for the money I have. Like a magic, my father and father-in-law came forward and gave their PF amount to close my pending  loans. I have closed my car and home loan last year. I am currently in the path of achieving Financial freedom”

“What about your health ?”

“I have thanked all my body parts whole heartedly daily for functioning effectively. Like a miracle, my health improved a lot and I a glowing with good health.

“Wow. I am glad to hear your story”

“I came to this party to personally thank you for the wonderful piece of advice, you gave me on thee bus, about the attitude of gratitude” he said.

“I don’t want your thanks. As promised, please give half of your assets” I said jokingly.

“Sure. You deserve it” he said seriously.

“I am just kidding. You need to do me a favor” I requested.

“Please tell. I am waiting to pay you back in some way” he said in a serious tone.

“Next time when you see a person who is depressed, please request him to be grateful for all the good things in his life” I requested.

“I will do it for sure” Sundar said and hugged me for the help. He left the party after bidding a warm Good bye.

On seeing the sky, I thanked the God and my masters for giving me the opportunity and wisdom to change Sundar’s life positively.

I was still sitting in the table with my wife and son enjoying the Amul Butterscotch Ice-cream. During that time, Praveen, one of my office colleagues came to me.

"Prem, I want to meet you personally for a long time" Praveen kick started the conversation.

"Really. Please let me know how can I help you?" I asked him as if I am the Aladdin’s Genie.

A Monk with a Mac - Chapter 3

14-Feb-2019 | Lufthansa Airlines from Bangalore to Frankfurt | 5.00 AM

Suddenly, I could sense that the Airline Cabin crew is busy. Yes, they have started distributing the breakfast for us. Asian Vegetarian meal was served for me. Breakfast menu contained Pongal, Small Medhu Vada, One small Onion Dosa, Sambahar, Chutney, Bread, Amul Butter, Jam and Fruit Salad in a limited quantity. If a person eats the food given in the flight for one month, I am confident that the person will lose minimum of 10 kgs.

When the cabin crew member asked the monk sitting next to me about the meal preference, he replied "No Thanks.Just a glass of plain water please" he answered with his patented smile.

"Why are you not having the breakfast ?" I asked the monk eagerly.

"I am not hungry now. I have the habit of eating the food only when I am hungry" he replied.

"Why ?" I asked.

"An Irish couplet says, Eat only when you are hungry and drink water only when you are thirsty, and you will live as long as the heavens fall down" he replied, while I was eating my favorite Medhu Vada. Yes, I too was not feeling hungry while I was eating the breakfast.

"Does this phrase true ?" I asked, inquisitively.

"I used to fall sick often during my early childhood. I tried Allopathy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, etc. Even though it helped me to solve the symptoms, the cure is not permanent. My father have finally taken me to an ancient Vishnu temple near my town. In that temple, my father have narrated my problem to the Old priest aged about 80 years. The Old Priest have tied a  sacred red thread on my hand and have advised me to eat the food only when I am hungry. Miraculously, by following this simple technique for one week, I could see lots of improvement in my health. I continued following this religiously, and I am healed completely within three months" the Monk explained, proudly.

"Awesome. You are healed by the sacred thread or by eating the food when you are hungry?" I threw him a hypothetical question.

"Both" the monk replied smartly.

"How your body healed, by this simple technique?" I asked surprised.

"When you eat the food, when you are hungry, it will become an Elixir. In contrary, when you eat the food, when you are not hungry, it will become as poison" he replied.

"Hmm... Interesting"

"From that time onwards, I eat only when I am hungry and I enjoy a  healthy body with more energy and enthusiasm. Very rarely I get Fever and Common cold, which I cure myself by water fasting" the monk answered gleefully.

“So, you don’t go to Doctor?” I asked him

“No. I haven’t step inside a Hospital by God’s grace, for the past 20 Years." he replied proudly.

"Wow. It inspires me a lot"

"If you listen to your body when it whispers, you won’t have to hear it scream” the monk said cheerfully.

I have started trusting his words by now, as he gives more logical reasons for all my questions. I wanted to give his philosophy a try, to see the positive difference. Immediately, I stopped eating the breakfast and closed my plate with the tissue paper.

"I hope, you will eat only vegetarian food right?" I asked

"Yes, you are right we eat only Satvik food that is offered to the God. Usually I prepare my food myself and I refrain eating the food from restaurant's"

"Why don't you eat the food from restaurant’s?" I asked confused.

"Do you know that the food we eat contains the imprints of the cook's mind, during it's preparation? So only, we avoid eating the food prepared by the third party cook" the monk explained.

"Is it really true? Is there any scientific proof?” I asked, inquisitively.

"It seems you don't believe anything until it is proved in laboratory" the monk asked me with a big smile.

"Seeing is Believing" I answered.
"However, in Spiritual Science, You need to Believe to See" the monk replied politely.

He also added that "Please read the book 'The Hidden Message’s in Water' written by Masaru Emoto. It explains how our thoughts affect the water. He proved this theory, in his laboratory especially for persons like you" he giggled.

"Really ? Is he a scientist?" I asked
"Yes. Spiritual Scientist" he smiled.

I have opened my LG G7 smartphone and noted down the book name and author name in my Google Keep, with an intention to read this book in future.

Suddenly, a cabin crew member came to me with a hot flask and asked "Sir, Do you need tea or coffee?"

"No Thanks" I replied. Yes, I have decided to eat or drink only when I get an alarm from my stomach.

The Car ( Happily Maried Series )

3-Feb-2018 | 6.00 PM | KR Puram

It was a beautiful Sunday evening. In my home balcony, I was reading the book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” written by Robert Kiyosaki. I was amazed by the contents of the book, as the author have given lots of philosophies to achieve Financial Freedom. This book is about coming out of the 9 to 6 corporate rat race and living our dreams without worrying about money.

“Do you want Herbal Tea?” my wife’s sweet voice echoed from our Kitchen.
I am little surprised, as it is the first time in the history my wife have asked whether I need a Herbal Tea. Usually, she will prepare the Herbal Tea only based on my request. Sometimes, I need to remind her two or three times.

After handing over the Herbal tea to me, she said “We need to present something for our son’s Birthday which is coming this month”

“Sure, Why not ?”

“As he likes car very much, let’s present him car this Birthday” She replied.

“It is a good idea. Please select the car and “Add to Cart” in our Amazon account” I said with a smile on the face.

“Whether Amazon sells cars also?” she asked puzzled.

“Have you seen Amazon logo, it have an arrow that connects A to Z, which represents that it sells everything from A to Z” I answered.

“It is better to visit showroom and purchase a car, rather than in Amazon”

“Why to spend Rs.300 to go to the showroom to buy a Rs.300 worth car” I asked.

“Hello, I am talking about the Original car and not toy car” She replied.

“Whether the gift is for our Son or you” I asked.

“It is for all of us” she replied smartly. Yes,not all beautiful girls are dumb.

Saint inside me told her that “In this Bangalore traffic, both our Maruti Zen and AUDI will go in the same speed”

“Stop giving me Gyan and tell whether you can buy or not” she said raising her voice.

“I would like to achieve Financial Freedom by 2030 and go back to our hometown. So I am not interested to invest in a car, which is a liability” I replied with a firm voice angrily.

I could see her eyes becoming moist, giving indication that there is heavy storm coming soon. Without replying anything with a little sad face, she quickly rushed inside the bedroom. Luckily, I got my Herbal Tea. I sipped it quickly and I wanted to get out of the scene as soon as possible before.

After changing the dress, I picked up the car key and stepped out of my home without informing her. I started my car without knowing the destination. In my car, Hare Krishna Mahamantra was playing in background with a melodious music.

'Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare'

On hearing the Mahamantra, suddenly, a light bulb sparked in my brain. I got the answer for the destination and started moving my car towards the nearest Hare Krishna temple.

3-Feb-2018 | 7.00 PM | Hare Krishna Temple
I reached the Hare Krishna temple and prayed to Lord Krishna to give me mental peace and happiness. On opening the eyes, one of the volunteers have requested me to attend the Bhagavad Gita session that will start in a couple of minutes. He asked me to go to the auditorium which is in the first floor. He also told me that free Dinner Prasad will be distributed for all the Bhagavad Gita participants. As I am confident that I won’t get Dinner tonight at home, I thought that it will be a wise decision to attend the Gita class to get the free Dinner.

I reached the temple auditorium and it is almost full. However there are three seats unoccupied in the first row. I walked to the first row like a VIP and occupied a comfortable seat. A young handsome monk in a saffron cloth entered the auditorium and have taken the seat on the stage. He started his speech with a regular prayer. He introduced himself to us and he told that his name is “Giridhari”.

The monk has a cute smile on his face always. He told the audience that today's topic is 'KARMA'. He posted a general question to all of us “What is Karma?”. Everyone in the auditorium gave their version of definition. He suddenly pointed me and asked the same question “What is Karma?”.

Now I could understand that why three seats are empty in the first row, when I entered the auditorium. It is clear to me now that the people would like to avoid direct questions from the trainer by sitting in the first row.

I regained my strength and replied that “It is my KARMA to attend this session today and answer this question”. Whole auditorium burst out laughing including the monk.

The Monk explained that “Karma means action. But actions can either bind one to this materialistic world or liberate one from it. What goes around, comes around. You reap what you sow. When you sow a Mango tree, you reap the mangoes. However, AKARMA, engaging in the devotional service of the almighty, is the one that helps people to get people free from the cycle of birth and death”

He finished his session ontime at 8.30 PM and informed us “Do you have any burning questions?”

There was pin drop silence in the Auditorium.

“If you don’t have any questions, you can go to the Dining hall where the Prasad is being served” the monk informed us.

After the session, I went to the monk and told him that “Your speech is Brilliant. I got answers for all my questions which was disturbing my mind. Thank you”

“All proud to God. It is HIM, who spoke through me” he replied humbly with a beautiful smile on his face. It is very clear that he don’t want to take credit for his speech. I returned home in my car with a clarity in my mind.

3-Feb-2018 | 9.30 PM | KR Puram
As soon as I reached home, I went straight to my wife. She was busy preparing her favorite Idli at Kitchen. On seeing me, she turned her face. I could sense that the anger is fuming from her face still.

I caught her both hands and I told “I got a great Wisdom today in the Bhagavad Gita Class and I am Sorry for hurting you. Please apologize me”

She was puzzled by my behavior.

I continued “In today’s Bhagavad Gita class, our master told that people (Boss, Colleagues, Friends, Spouse, Children, etc) are sent to us based on your past Karma's. So, if someone tries to disturb your mental peace, don’t get angry with them. You are irritating me, because of my past bad Karma's. So there is no use in getting anger with you. If I need to get angry, I need to get angry with myself for my ignorance. Indeed I need to Thank you for helping me delete my bad Karma's from my Karmic account”

I added, “Let’s buy the car as per your wish on our son’s next birthday. I need some time to save some money for our new car down payment”

“It's OK. I could understand your feelings. Let’s drop our car plan and let’s together work as a team, to achieve our financial Independence” she replied with a smile on her face.

Suddenly, my eyes were on the Lord Krishna photo in the monthly calendar in which it is written as “Anyone who takes shelter under my lotus feet will be saved”

The Traffic Signal [ Happily Married Series ]

27 Jan 2019 - 9.30 PM IST ( Bangalore )

Me, my wife and our son was returning home in our car after enjoying the dinner at Sri Krishna Kafe,  Koramangala. At the Koramangala Forum mall Signal, the traffic lights was glowing “Red” and the timer started count down from 180.
I stopped the car exactly near the Zebra Crossing.

On seeing the traffic signal my son started singing rhythmically 'Red means Stop. Yellow means Ready and Green means Go'. My wife have taught him recently. He says this phrase whenever he encounters a traffic signal.

My Son asked me innocently ‘Daddy, why the cars and bikes are still going, when the signal is Red’. As I don’t have a valid answer I just smiled at him and started observing the things around me.

In the Walkway, near the road there was a beautiful girl. On seeing her, the cupid inside me started playing the harp (A Musical Instrument). She was wearing a black full sleeves top with a red cotton skirt. She had a fair complexion and she was wearing a glass that has a thick black frame. She had a free hair style, with a cute smile on her face. She was holding her boyfriend tightly with her left hand. However, I didn’t care much about that. She resembled the Kannada actress Rashmika Mandanna

Coincidentally ‘Belageddu yaara mukhava naanu noDide song from the Kannda movie Kirik party was playing in my car to make the scene more romantic.

My wife asked me ‘Whom you are you seeing outside?’. Cupid inside was laughing that You are caught red handedly.

I told her that ‘I like the black full sleeves top with a red cotton skirt dress and was imagining, how you will be looking in that dress’

It is the strategy which I use, whenever I see a beautiful girl. Yes, you read it right, beautiful girl and not dress, so-that she won’t mistake me.She also nodded her head that Yes, that black top and red skirt is good and went into her own dreamland.

Suddenly, one more young couple crossed the Zebra crossing in-front of our car. She was wearing a Pink T-shirt and Denim Jeans. My wife pointed on the boyfriend of the girl, who is wearing the black top, ‘See that guy, she had a beautiful girl with him and still staring at the girl who is wearing that Pink T-Shirt’

I nodded like an obedient student as 'Yes, he must be bad boy. We must be happy with what we have'

Cupid inside me was telling me sarcastically “Hello brother, Are you a good boy ?

When the signal became Green, the Cupid inside me became red and I started moving from that place in the car.

After we crossed the signal, my wife told that “She liked that black dress and Red Skirt very much”.

Smilingly I told her “Me too like it very much”

She added that “We should come to Koramangala frequently, sothat we can get ideas about various modern dress that girls wear”

I giggled and told her ‘Sure. Why not ?’

The Surprise - ( Happily Married Series )

It is told that if you throw a small stone in Bangalore, it will fall on an IT Professional. Yes it might fall on me as well, as I am also in Bangalore. I am a proud IT professional, working in a South Korean MNC.

25th Jan 2019 :
It was a beautiful Friday afternoon in my office, I was busy preparing my presentation material for next month’s HQ workshop at Seoul, South Korea.

It was around 12.30 PM, I got a Skype message in which Arun has written "Let's Start for Lunch..."

As usual I replied in Skype "Let's start after 5 minutes and meet you in the reception area".

Both of us met at the office reception and started walking towards SLV Andhra mess near to our office. I am a big fan of Andhra meals which is served with Spicy Dhal. Usually we pay Rs.70 for unlimited meals and finish eating only after ensuring there is no space left in the stomach. Even the server will serve the food with love. It will remind you those days when you were in your in-laws’ house for the "Thala Diwali" ( First Diwali) after marriage.

On the way back to office, we both started discussing about the recent Novel "You are the Best Wife" written by Ajay K Pandey and how it has changed our perception about wife, sorry life.

Arun told me 'Last Sunday, I took my wife to Commercial Street after eight years of my marriage, Just because she likes shopping and want to spend quality time with him'.

I responded 'Yes, even I used to complain a lot about my wife. Now I am happy that I am having someone at least to fight with'.

Arun gave his signature smile as usual, which only his wife can understand.

At 1.30 PM, I reached my beautiful cubicle which is decorated with Inspirational and Motivational quotes. I was feeling little drowsy, as my body has directed most of the blood to my stomach to digest the food. Sitting on my chair comfortably, I closed my eyes and started observing my breath.

After sometime, I have picked up my ceramic cup and walked to the cafeteria to have a cup of hot water. I have read somewhere that sipping hot water can ease digestion. So I wanted to give it a try. Yes, it really worked and helped my digestion.

I came back to my seat and became busy with my workshop material preparation. Usually the workshop will be for two days and my session will be for approximately 2 hours, for which I need to spend at least 2 months to prepare the material day and night. So, I don't like attending Workshop.

Exactly at 3.00 PM, I got a Skype message from my Lunch & Tea Group and it was Manu who typed as 'Coffee?'. We got 4 to 5 'Yes' messages as though all were desperate for a break.

Sometimes a cup of coffee and a gang of 4 to 5 friends is all that you need to forget your worries and stress.

Our office have MDP coffee counter in sixth floor. When I entered the Cafeteria, the aroma of Coffee welcomed me. I too joined the gang of five people who are already busy discussing. I dipped my Tulsi Tea bag in a cup of hot water and started sipping it slowly silently watching the happenings.

Varun as usual started pulling Abhijith with his big smile.

Varun asked 'Abhijith, why do you give preference only for Girls in your QuickRide' and smiled sarcastically.

Abhijith is a strong believer of the slogan 'Live to Drive' and have a beautiful blue Volkswagen Vento.

The saint inside Abhijith replied innocently, 'I am doing a social service of dropping the Girls safely at their doorsteps, in which I feel a sense of satisfaction'.

Deepak too joined the conversation (I should rightly call as pulling) and asked Abhijith, 'Why don't you get that satisfaction, by dropping the Men safely at their doorsteps?'.

Ajay smiled and told 'Men are always Men'.Everyone of us, burst out laughing and the whole eyes in the cafeteria were on us.

Abhijith is a Gentleman and I didn't like everyone targeting Abhijith, so I told them that let's finish this topic and get back to work. We should do some work for the salary that credits every month. Everyone acknowledged and we started walking towards our respective cubicles.

In my cubicle, I continued my HQ Workshop material preparation. When the clock ticked 5.30 PM, I shut down my laptop and rushed to catch my bus to home. I have got strict orders from my wife to come home early, to take care of our three year old son Krishna, who doesn't stand in a single place even for a second.

I reached home by 6.30 pm after sailing through the snail phase moving Bangalore traffic. I rang the calling bell and my wife opened the door wearing the beautiful Yellow dress that, I gifted for her birthday.  She always wears pink as it is her favorite color. However, Yellow is my favorite color. I was surprised on seeing the change of color. She gave me a big smile and politely asked me to handover my office bag.

My son Krishna was sitting on his little blue chair and enjoying the Song ‘Vachindamma Vachindamma’ from the Telugu movie Geetha Govindam. On seeing the song, I was thinking this will happen only in movies and not in real life. ( If you haven't watched this song, please pause reading further and watch this song in YouTube. Even though you don't know Telugu, you can get the message through it's beautiful choreography. It has a small connection to my story).

As soon as I rested on the chair, she started massaging my shoulders for five minutes. Feeling pity that her hand will pain, I asked her to stop and thanked her.

She handed over the hot vegetable soup that she made and told me that she has prepared my favorite Chapati and Vegetable Kurma for dinner.

I was taken back by one more surprise, as she usually prepares Idli or Dosa for Dinner. I used to feel that she usually toss the coin, and if it is heads, she will prepare Idli and if it is tails, then she prepares Dosa. But today I got my favorite Chapati for Dinner.

She handed me a paper and asked me to write five Wish list that I would like her to fulfill this Year. I was once again surprised by her behavior.

I asked her directly, 'Are You OK? What happened to You?'

My wife replied 'I have read the book 'The Five love languages' written by Gary Chapman and it is the reason for my positive transformation. I promise that I will be following all the principles written in the book from now-onwards'.

I went to my Prayer room and thanked Lord Krishna whole heartily that my prayers were finally answered after five years of my marriage. It seems Lord Krishna has taken my prayers seriously.

Suddenly, I got a phone call with the ringtone 'Inkem Inkem Kavale..' and it was showing the name "Wife". I was little surprised that why she is calling me, when I am also at home.

I rubbed my eyes and rotated my face 180 degrees and I realized that I am in my office cubicle and the time was 2.00 PM in the afternoon. It has taken me few seconds to realize that I had a colorful dream after my heavy Andhra meals.

Over the phone my wife told, 'Hello Daddy, Our Wet grinder is to be repaired, so please buy Idli/Dosa batter while coming home today evening. I hope you will eat Idli tonight right?' She asked me affectionately.

Idli is the one thing that I hate the most, as I eat it almost daily. Even if I say "No", anyways she will prepare only Idli. So I decided to say "Yes", so that I will feel happy that I have taken the decision.

I told 'Yes Madam'.

She usually calls me as Daddy mimicking my kid, when she needs some favor or work to be done. I use to call her Madam inspired by the Telugu Movie Geetha Govindam.

She also instructed that, "I have added 5 dresses in your Amazon Wish list as per your request yesterday, please order that today without fail".

I hope I don't want to tell you that, the dresses are selected that have five different flavors of Pink.

She completely misunderstood, what I told her about to write her Wish list based on the book "The Five love languages". Now, I don't have any other option but to tell Yes

I replied politely 'OK Madam' and hung up.

In my cubicle, I saw a photo in which, Goddesses Lakshmi is pressing the feet of Lord Vishnu. It seems as if, HE is smiling at me. I just told smilingly Om Namo Narayana'.
