Rig Veda is one of the famous ancient scriptures written in Sanskrit language. It is believed that the Rig Veda is written during the period of 1500 B.C.
Rig Veda talks about Yoga, Meditation, Mantra and Ayurveda. It contains 1,028 hymns organised into 10 books. Hymns are written by many Rishis including the Atri, Kanwa,Vashistha, Vishwamitra, Jamadagni, Gotama and Bharadwaja.
Rig Veda is a book of mantras. Most of the hymns are written in the praise of God. Most important hymn from the pages of Rig Veda is given below.

Bhadram Pashyema-Akssabhir-Yajatraah
Sthirair-Amgais-Tussttuvaamsas-Tanuubhih

May we hear only good with our ears and see only good with our eyes. O Divine, may we lead a life of contentment and health and sing thy glories during the life span granted to us.
